Ayam Cemani
Often considered one of the most exotic chicken breeds, the Ayam Cemani originates from Indonesia and is known for their fibromelanistic genetics, which causes their feathers, skin, comb, wattles, beak, legs, and even internal tissues to be black. They have a sleek, elegant appearance with a confident, alert personality and a beautiful green beetle sheen in their feathers when viewed in sunlight. While highly prized for their unique appearance, they are also hardy, active birds that do well in a variety of climates, including the Texas summer heat.
